Sinner, Pegula Reach Fourth Round of 2025 French Open
Saturday’s Results from Roland Garros
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner cruised into the fourth-round of Roland Garros on Saturday, easily dismissing Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic 6-0, 6-1, 6-2.
Needing only one hour and 34 minutes to advance, Sinner hit three aces, won 83 percent of his first serve points and broke his opponent on seven occasions.
Barely breaking a sweat in his match, Sinner will have plenty in his reserves as he faces No. 17 seed Andrey Rublev in the fourth round.
Rublev advanced to the fourth round when his opponent No. 14 seed Arthur Fils was forced to withdraw from the tournament with a stress fracture in his back. He is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks.
Other matches on the day saw Tallon Griekspoor need five sets to oust American Ethan Quinn 4-6, 6-1, 6-7(2), 6-1, 6-4.
The talented Dutch player will face either defending finalist and No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev in the fourth round, or recent Hamburg Open winner Flavio Cobolli.
Other matches still on deck on Saturday will see No. 5 seed Jack Draper take on Brazilian upstart Joao Fonseca, and No. 6 seed and three-time winner Novak Djokovic face Filip Misolic from Austria.
Misolic is ranked No 153 in the world and recently defeated No. 27 seed Denis Shapovalov in five sets in the second round.
Sunday’s action in the City of Lights will see defending champion Carlos Alcaraz take on No. 13 seed Ben Shelton from the United States.
Shelton has now made the fourth round or better of every Grand Slam event. Alcaraz leads Shelton 2-0 in career head-to-head matches.

Other results on the day saw No. 6 seed Mirra Andreeva take out No. 31 seed Yulia Putintseva 6-3, 6-1, and No. 17 seed Daria Kasatkina dispatch No. 10 seed Paula Badosa 6-1, 7-5.
