Sabalenka, Musetti Reach Fourth Round of 2025 French Open
Friday’s Results from Roland Garros
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the fourth round of the French Open on Friday, defeating Olga Danilovic from Serbia 6-2, 6-3.
Needing one hour and nine minutes to prevail, Sabalenka slammed one ace, 17 winners, broke serve on five occasions, and won 63 percent of her first serve points.
The Belorussian will next face No. 16 seed Amanda Anisimova for a place in the quarterfinals. Anisimova defeated No. 22 seed Clara Tauson from Denmark 7-6(4), 6-4.
Other winners on the day included No. 8 seed Qinwen Zheng and No. 19 seed Liudmila Samsonova.
Defending champion and No. 5 seed Iga Swiatek will be in action later today against Jaqueline Cristian from Romania.
Saturday’s action in Paris will feature No. 2 seed Coco Gauff and No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula.

Musetti Marches On
Italian star Lorenzo Musetti continued his stellar clay-court season on Friday in France, defeating Mariano Navone from Argentina 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
The No. 8 seed, who reached the semifinals or better of every Masters 1000 on clay this Spring, will next face either No. 10 seed Holger Rune or Quentin Halys from France.
Other matches on the day will see No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz, No. 12 seed Tommy Paul, No. 13 seed Ben Shelton and No. 15 seed Frances Tiafoe all aiming to reach the fourth round.
Top seed and reigning US Open and Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner returns to Court Suzanne-Lenglen on Saturday against Jiri Lehecka from the Czech Republic.
Other matches on Saturday will feature No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev, No. 5 seed Jack Draper and No. 6 seed and 24-time Major winner Novak Djokovic.
