Rublev Storms into 2025 Halle Open Second Round
Tuesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Two-time former finalist Andrey Rublev reached the second round in Halle, Germany on Tuesday, defeating Sebastian Ofner from Austria 6-3, 6-4.
Needing one hour and two minutes to advance, Rublev hit 10 aces, 17 winners, won 100 percent of his first serve points, and broke his opponent on two occasions.
Rublev, who has 17 career titles, will next face Tomas Martin Etcheverry in round two. The Argentine ousted Pedro Martinez from Spain 6-1, 6-3.
No. 7 seed Tomas MacHac also scored a first round victory over Jesper De Jong, defeating the Dutchman 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
Top seed and world No. 1 Jannik Sinner will be in action later today Yannik Hafemann from Germany.

HSBC Championships—Great Britain
Consistent Australian Alex de Minuar was ousted from the first round of the Queen’s Club event in London, England on Tuesday, losing to Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-2.
The Czech star used his big serve to hit 10 aces and win 84 percent of his first serve points.
Lehecka will next face Gabriel Diallo or Billy Harris from Great Britain. Diallo recently won his first-career title in the Netherlands over the weekend.
Matches that are still to come on Tuesday will feature top seed Carlos Alcaraz, No. 2 seed Jack Draper and No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz.

BERLIN TENNIS OPEN by HYLO—Berlin, Germany
Four-time former Major winner Naomi Osaka continued her slump in form on Tuesday in Berlin, Germany, losing to Liudmila Samsonova 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4.
Samsonova will next face No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula for a place in the quarterfinals.
Osaka, currently ranked No. 57 in the world, fell to 17-8 on the season.
Other results on the day saw Wang Xinyu dispatch Daria Kasatkina 6-3, 6-2.
Marquee match ups that are still to come on Tuesday will feature Amanda Anisimova taking on Bianca Andresscu, Qinwen Zheng going up against Elena Rybakina, and Diana Shnaider facing Donna Vekic.
On Wednesday, top seed Aryna Sabalenka will play her first grass-court match of the season against Rebeka Masarova from Switzerland.

LEXUS NOTTINGHAM OPEN—Nottingham, Great Britain
No. 6 seed Magda Linette reached the second round of the Nottingham Open on Tuesday, defeating up-and-coming Pilipino star Alexandra Eala 6-4, 6-3.
Winning 71 percent of her first serve points and striking five aces, Linette will next face Mingge Xu or Katie Volynets from the United States.
Other winners on the day included Sonay Kartal and Francesca Jones.
Top seed Beatriz Haddad Maia will go up against McCartney Kessler from the US later today.
