Alcaraz Wins 2025 French Open Title Over Sinner

Sunday’s final in Paris, France featured the world No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz capturing his fifth career Major, defeating top seed Jannik Sinner 4-6, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(3), 7-6(2).
In the longest men’s final in French Open history, Alcaraz needed five hours and 29 minutes to collect his victory. Striking 70 winners, seven aces, won 63 percent of his first serve points and broke his Italian opponent on seven occasions.
Improving to 8-4 against Sinner in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz has now owns five career Majors.
The Italian star did not drop a set all tournament long until the finals.
Winning his title in front of the Parisian crowd, Alcaraz will next set his sights at winning his third-straight title at Wimbledon later this month.
Sinner, who fell to 3-1 in Major finals, defeated three-time former winner and No. 6 seed Novak Djokovic 6-4, 7-5, 7-6(3) in the semifinals.
Playing in only his third tournament of the season because of a three-month doping suspension, Sinner is next scheduled to compete at the Terra Wortmann Open in Halle, Germany.
Sinner is the defending champion at the grass-court event.
The Italian has never won Wimbledon, and along with Djokovic, will be Alcaraz’s greatest competition when the year’s third Major gets underway in London, England.
For Alcaraz, he completes a stellar clay-court campaign, which includes winning titles in Monte Carlo, Monaco, Rome, Italy, and making the finals in Barcelona, Spain.

Women’s Final Recap: Gauff Prevails
American star Coco Gauff was crowed French Open champion for 2025 on Saturday in Paris, France.
Defeating top seed Aryna Sabalenka in a gritty, three set affair, Gauff displayed her fighting spirit and calm demeanour during the two hour and 38 minute encounter.
Sabalenka, who hit 70 unforced errors during the match, was visibly tense even after winning the first set. The Belorussian has won three Majors to date, and dismissed defending champion Iga Swiatek in the semifinals.
The 27-year-old will take a 3470 point lead over Gauff in the world rankings when Monday’s update is released.
Both Sabalenka and Gauff will now shift their attentions to the grass-courts in London, where the year’s third Major in England will begin on June 30th.
