Alexandra Eala Reaches 2025 Eastbourne Finals
Friday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Friday’s action at the Eastbourne Open in Great Britain featured Alexandra Eala reaching the finals, defeating Varvara Gracheva from France 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.
Needing two hours and 22 to prevail, Eala will next face either Maya Joint or Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova for the title.
Eala, 20, is currently ranked No. 64 in the world, and has been the pride of the Philippines since reaching the semifinals of the Miami Open earlier this year.
On the men’s side, top seed Taylor Fritz will keep his dream alive of winning four titles in Eastbourne when he faces No. 6 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina later today.
The scheduled second semifinal will feature No. 4 seed Ugo Humbert taking on Jenson Brooksby of the United States,
Brooksby won his first-career title in Houston, Texas earlier this year, and Humbert will be looking for his eighth career title and second on grass-courts this weekend.
The Frenchman won the 500 level event in Halle, Germany in 2021.

Mallorca Championships presented by ecotrans Group
The Island of Mallorca will host two intriguing semifinal match ups on Friday at the Mallorca Championships.
First up, No. 2 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime will look to make his fourth final of the season when he faces talented Dutch player Tallon Griekspoor.
Griekspoor has also had a successful season on Tour, reaching the quarterfinals or better of six Tour events this year.
Auger-Aliassime owns one career victory against Griekspoor in their head-to-head. He defeated the 28-year-old in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands in 2022.
Friday’s second semifinal will feature talented Frenchman Corentin Moutet taking on No. 3 seed Alex Michelsen.
Michelsen, who has had a steady rise up the rankings, currently stands at No. 31 in the world.
Moutet, who continues to be one of the most crafty players on Tour, will move up to at least No. 75 in the rankings on Monday with his result this week.
The 26-year-old from Paris, France has never won a Tour title.

Looking for a nice boost of confidence heading into Wimbledon next week, No. 4 seed Iga Swiatek defeated No. 2 seed Jasmine Paolini 6-1, 6-3 at the Bad Homburg semifinals in Germany on Friday.
Struggling with her form the entire season, Swiatek has never favoured grass-courts. The 23-year-old has already amassed 22 career titles, five Majors, the world No. 1 ranking and over 36-million dollars in prize money alone
The day’s second semifinal will seed top seeded American Jessica Pegula taking on Linda Noskova from the Czech Republic.
Pegula has won two titles this year in Charleston, South Carolina and Austin, Texas.
Noskova, 20, has one career title to her name and defeated Pegula in Dubai, U.A.E earlier this year. She also picked up a great victory over No. 6 seed Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
