Paul Reaches Semifinals of 2025 Rome Masters
Thursday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
American Tommy Paul advanced to the semifinals of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, Italy on Thursday, dismissing No. 30 seed Hubert Hurkacz 7-6(4), 6-3.
Needing one hour and 58 minutes to advance, Paul hit one ace, won 74 percent of his first serve points, broke serve on four occasions, and struck 16 winners in total.
Improving to 3-1 against Hurkacz in lifetime meetings, Paul will next face either top seed Jannik Sinner or No. 6 seed Casper Ruud for a place in the finals.
Friday’s action in Rome will feature No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz taking on No. 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti.
Alcaraz and Musetti have played on five occasions, with the Spaniard leading 4-1.
Both players are in great form this clay court season. Alcaraz won the title in Monte Carlo, Monaco and made the finals in Barcelona, Spain, while Musetti reached the finals in Monaco, the semifinals in Madrid, Spain and at least the semifinals in Rome.

Paolini Advances to Italian Open Final
Italian star Jasmine Paolini reached the finals of the Italian Open on Thursday, defeating Peyton Stearns from the United States 7-5, 6-1.
After a topsy-turvy first set, Paolini raced through the second set in easy fashion.
Hitting one ace and winning 60 percent of her first serve points, Paolini won 60 percent of her first serve points. The French Open and Wimbledon finalist will next face either No. 4 seed Coco Gauff or No. 8 seed Qinwen Zheng.
Zheng upset top seed Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 6-3 on Wednesday.
Gauff defeated No. 7 seed Mirra Andreeva 6-4, 7-6(5).
