Fritz, Navarro, Tiafoe and Rybakina Highlight Day 3 Action at 2025 Mubadala Citi DC Open
Wednesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Tennis lovers will have another day of great action on deck at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday when top seed Taylor Fritz makes his first appearance at the tournament.
Fritz will go up against Aleksandar Vukic from Australia in his first match since Wimbledon.
Joining Fritz on Day 3 will include Frances Tiafoe playing in front of his hometown fans against fellow American and recent Los Cabos finalist Aleksandar Kovacevic, and No. 8 seed Daniil Medvedev taking on hard-serving Reilly Opelka.
No. 5 seed Andrey Rublev, No. 7 seed Alex de Minaur and No. 10 seed Alexi Popyrin will also be in action.
On the women’s side, the tournament is still buzzing over Venus Williams‘s impressive 6-3, 6-4 victory over Peyton Sterns on Tuesday evening.
At 45, Williams is the oldest winner on Tour since 47-year-old Martina Navratilova won at Wimbledon in 2004. Williams will face No. 5 seed Magdalena Frech on Thursday evening.
Other matches on Wednesday will feature No. 2 seed Emma Navarro going up against Maria Sakkari, and No. 3 seed Elena Rybakina taking on talented Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko.

Generali Open—Kitzbuhel, Austria
A day of upsets at the Generali Open in Kitzbuhel, Austria saw No. 2 seed Sebastian Baez, No. 3 seed Pedro Martinez, and No. 7 seed Francisco Comesana all crash out of the event.
Baez dropped a three set encounter to Yannick Hanfmann, Martinez was blitzed by Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2, 6-2, and Comesana lost in straight sets to Arthur Cazaux 6-4, 7-6(7).
No. 6 seed Arthur Rinderknech survived a three set encounter against Norbert Gombos 6-7(3), 6-4, 6-4.
Botic Van De Zandschulp also made the quarterfinals, defeating Filip Misolic 6-3, 7-6(4).
Top seed Alexander Bublik will be in action later today against Thiago Agustin Tirante from Argentina.

Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag—Umag, Croatia
Wednesday’s action in Umag, Croatia will feature top seed Francisco Cerundolo facing Carlos Taberner, No. 2 seed and Bastad, Sweden winner Luciano Darderi taking on Chun-Hsin Tseng, and No. 4 seed Damir Dzumhur will face fan favourite and former winner Stan Wawrinka.
Wawrinka, 40, has a 2-9 record on the year. He is currently ranked No. 156 in the world and has 16 career titles to his name.
The three-time Grand Slam winner won his first career title in Umag in 2006.

Livesport Prague Open 2025—Prague—Czech Republic
Second round action at the Prague Open in the Czech Republic on Wednesday saw No. 2 seed Rebecca Sramkova crash out of the event, losing to local talent Tereza Valentova 7-6(1), 7-5.
Valentova will next face Jessika Ponchet from France for a place in the semifinals.
Other results on the day saw No. 5 seed Marie Bouzkova, No. 9 seed Ann Li, and Katerina Siniakova all reach the final eight.
Top seed Linda Noskova is currently on court against Elisabetta Cocciaretto from Italy leading by a set and a break of serve.
Noskova is currently ranked No. 23 in the world.
