Tiafoe Cruises into Second Round of 2025 Hamburg Open

Bitpanda Hamburg Open—Hamburg, Germany
Italian star Flavio Cobolli advanced to the second round of the Hamburg Open in Germany on Tuesday, defeating Vitaliy Sachko 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
Needing two hours and 38 minutes to advance, Cobolli hit four aces, won 63 percent of his first serve points, and broke his Ukrainian opponent on eight occasions.
Winning his first career title in Bucharest, Romania earlier this year, Cobolli will next face either Gael Monfils or Alejandro Davidovich Fokina for a place in the quarterfinals.
Other results on the day saw Tomas Martin Etcheverry taking out countryman Francisco Comesana 7-6(4), 6-3. No. 6 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime and towering Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will be in action later today.
No. 2 seed Frances Tiafoe reached the second round after dismissing Yunchaokete Bu 7-5, 6-2.
Top seed Alexander Zverev and former winner Andrey Rublev were winners on Monday.

Rain has currently halted play at the Geneva Open in Switzerland.
When play does resume, No. 4 seed Karen Khachanov, No. 6 seed Hubert Hurkacz and former top 4 player Kei Nishikori will be in action.
Monday’s results in Geneva included No. 8 seed Matteo Arnaldi, Jacob Fearnley, Marton Fucsovics, Quentin Halys, Cameron Norrie, Sebastian Ofner and Nishikori all reaching the second round.

No. 3 seed Paula Badosa and No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina advanced to the quarterfinals in Strasbourg on Tuesday, defeating Maria Bouzkova and Xinyu Wang, respectively.
Badosa advanced when her opponent retired at 3-all in the first set, and Rybakina progressed with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-3.
Badosa will next face either Diane Parry or Liudmila Samsonova, and Rybakina will take on Magda Linette from Poland.
Wednesday’s action will feature top seed Jessica Pegula against Anna Kalinskaya from Russia.

Tuesday’s results in Rabat, Morocco featured Maya Joint, Sada Nahimana, Kamilla Rakhimova, Anastasjia Sevastova, and Maria Mateas all reaching the round of 16.
The highest seeded player in the draw—Camila Osorio—will return to action on Wednesday. The Colombian No. 2 seed defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto from Italy 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 on Monday.
