Khachanov Reaches 2025 Halle Open Quarterfinals
Thursday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
No. 8 seed Karen Khachanov needed three sets to reach the quarterfinals in Halle, Germany on Thursday, defeating Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-3, 1-6, 6-3.
Withstanding 12 aces from the Canadian, Khachanov hit 14 winners, tied his head-to-head with Auger-Aliassime at 2-all and will next face either No. 4 seed Andrey Rublev or Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
Flavio Cobolli needed just over two and a half hours to defeat Denis Shapovalov 7-6(2), 4-6, 7-6(5).
The Italian will take on either No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev or countryman Lorenzo Sonego for a place in the semifinals.
Top seed Jannik Sinner will be in action later today against Alexander Bublik.
Friday’s action will feature all quarterfinal matches.

HSBC Championships—Great Britain
Czech star Jiri Lehecka continued his strong week on Tour or Thursday, dismissing Gabriel Diallo 6-4, 6-2 at the Queen’s Club event in London, England.
Defeating No. 5 seed Alex de Minuar in round one, Lehecka will next face either Jacob Fearnley or Corentin Moutet for a semifinal birth.
Top seed Carlos Alcaraz will play his second round match later today against fellow Spaniard Jaume Munar.
Towering American Reilly Opelka will take on lucky loser Arthur Rinderknech to close out the day’s proceedings.

BERLIN TENNIS OPEN by HYLO—Berlin, Germany
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka finally posted a second-round victory at the Berlin Open in Germany on Thursday, dismissing Rebeka Masarova from Switzerland 6-2, 7-6(6).
Sabalenka, who is entering the event after losing in the finals of the French Open to Coco Gauff, will next face Elena Rybakina or Katerina Siniakova for a place in quarterfinals.
The Belorussian’s match was posted on Wednesday due to rain.
Other winners on the day saw former Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova defeat Diana Shnaider 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-3. Vondrousova will next face Ons Jabeur for a place in the semifinals.
Matches that are still on deck on Thursday will feature Gauff, Rybakina and Amanda Anisimova.

LEXUS NOTTINGHAM OPEN—Nottingham, Great Britain
Following up her victory over top seed Beatriz Haddad Maia, American McCartney Kessler scored another impressive victory on Thursday in Nottingham, England, dismissing Zhu Lin from China 6-1, 6-4.
Kessler will next face Katie Boulter or Sonay Kartal.
Other winners on the day saw No. 6 seed Magda Linette defeat Mingge Xu 7-5, 6-1. The day’s final match will feature No. 2 seed Clara Tauson taking on Anna Blinkova from Russia.
