Improving to 4-2 against Draper in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz will next face either No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev or No. 8 seed Lorenzo Musetti for a spot in Sunday’s final.
Other results on the day saw No. 6 seed Casper Ruud completed a carryover match against Jaume Munar, defeating the Spaniard 6-3, 6-4. Rain postponed the contest on Tuesday.
Thursday’s action in Rome will feature top seed Jannik Sinner taking on Ruud, and No. 11 seed Tommy Paul facing No. 30 seed Hubert Hurkacz. Sinner leads Ruud 3-0 in career head-to-head matches, and Paul has a 2-1 series lead over Hurkacz.
Gauff Impressive in Quarterfinal Victory

In a well-played encounter, Gauff hit three aces, won 73 percent of her first serve points, and broke her Russian opponent on four occasions.
Gauff will await the winner of an enticing match up later today between top seed Aryna Sabalenka and No. 8 seed Qinwen Zheng.
