Dzumhur Advances in Bastad; Cerundolo Wins in Gstaad
Tuesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Tuesday’s action in Bastad, Sweden featured No. 7 seed Damir Dzumhur picking up a first-round victory, defeating Sebastian Ofner 6-4, 6-4.
Dzumhur, who has been ranked as high as No. 23 in the world back in July of 2018, will next face Hugo Gaston from France for a place in the quarterfinals.
Gaston elimimated Chun-Hsin Tseng 6-4, 6-3 earlier in the day.
Other winners on Tuesday saw Andrea Pellegrino and No. 8 seed Vik Kopriva advance.
Cristian Garin and Mariano Navone will play their first round matches later today.

EFG Swiss Open Gstaad—Gstaad, Switzerland
No. 8 seed Arthur Rinderknech couldn’t keep his momentum going from defeating No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev in the first round of Wimbledon Tuesday in Gstaad, Switzerland, losing in straight sets to Italian qualifier Francesco Passaro 6-1, 7-5.
Passaro will next face Jerome Kym from Switzerland, or Calvin Hemery from France.
Other winners on the day saw Argentine Juan Manuel Cerundolo defeat Jan-Lennard Struff 6-3, 3-6, 6-3, and Francisco Comesana get the better of countryman Marco Trungelliti 6-3, 6-4.
Three-time Major winner Stan Wawrinka will be in action later today against Alexander Shevchenko from Kazakhstan.
Top seed Casper Ruud will be in action later this week against Dominic Stricker from Switzerland.

Mifel Tennis Open by Telcel Oppo—Los Cabos, Mexico
On Tuesday, first-round action continues at the ATP Tour 250 event in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Played in hot and humid conditions, matches do not start until 6pm in the evening.
When play does get underway, No. 5 seed Daniel Altmaier, No. 6 seed Yunchaokete Bu, No. 8 seed Adam Walton and former world No. 17 Adrian Mannarino will be in action.
Mannarino is coming off of a third round appearance at Wimbledon and a finals showing at the Challenger event in Newport, Rhode Island last week.
Top seed Andrey Rublev will be in action later this week against Mexican wildcard Alex Hernandez.
Hernandez dismissed Taro Daniel from Japan 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 on Monday.

MSC HAMBURG LADIES OPEN—HAMBURG,GERMANY
Tuesday’s order of play at the Hamburg Open in Germany saw Dalma Galfi, Kaja Juvan, Arantxa Rus, and Leyre Romero Gormaz all advance to second round action.
Roland Garros semifinalist Lois Boisson will be in action later today against Julia Grabher Austria. Boisson in the No. 5 seed this week in Hamburg.
On Wednesday, top seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, No. 2 seed Dayana Yastremska, and No. 3 seed Tatjana Maria will play their first round matches.
Alexandrova is currently ranked No. 17 in the world, Yastremska recently defeated Roland Garros champion Coco Guaff in the second round of Wimbledon, and Maria captured the prestigious grass-court event in Queen’s Club prior to the start of Wimbledon.

Top seed Elina Avanesyan made a quick start to her campaign in Isai, Romania on Tuesday, defeating local favourite Andreea Prisacariu 6-3, 6-3.
Avanesyan will next face Maria Lourdes Carle in the second round.
Other winners on Tuesday saw Simona Waltert, Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, Anna Siskova, Irene Burillo Escorihuela all reach the second round.
Burillo Escorihuela progressed when No. 4 seed Nuria Parrizas-Diaz was forced to retire trailing 1-4 in the third set.
No. 2 seed Jaqueline Cristian will play her first round match later today against Daria Lodikova. Cristian is currently ranked No. 51 in the world.
