Auger-Aliassime Advances to 2025 BOSS Open Semifinals

Friday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results

Friday’s action at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany saw No. 4 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime reach the semifinals of the tournament, dismissing Justin Engel from Germany 7-6(3), 6-3. 

In a match that lasted one hour and 39 minutes, Auger-Aliassime hit 18 aces, won 86 percent of his first serve points, and broke his opponent on two occasions. 

The 24-year-old Canadian will next face either No. 2 seed Taylor Fritz or Marton Fucsovics from Hungry.

Other matches on the day will feature top seed Alexander Zverev taking on No. 6 seed Brandon Nakashima, and No. 3 seed Ben Shelton facing No. 8 seed Jiri Lehecka.

Saturday’s schedule in Stuttgart will be highlighted by semifinal matches.

Libema Open—Netherlands

Action at the Libema Open in the Netherlands on Friday saw No. 2 seed Ugo Humbert march into the semifinals, defeating Nuno Borges from Portugal 6-1, 6-4. 

The talented Frenchman will next face either No. 2 seed Karen Khachanov or inform Canadian Gabriel Diallo. 

Other matches that will be contested today will see top seed Daniil Medvedev against Reilly Opelka, and Zizou Bergs taking on Mark Lajal. 

On the women’s side, No. 2 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova ousted Veronika Kudermetova 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 and will face No. 3 seed Elise Mertens or Yue Yuan from China in the semifinals. 

The day’s other quarterfinal matches will feature former US Open champion Bianca Andresscu facing Elena-Gabriela Ruse, and Suzan Lamens taking on Elisabetta Cocciaretto from Italy.

The HSBC Championship—London—Great Britain 

Friday’s stellar quarterfinal lineup at the Queen’s Club event in London, England will see top seed Qinwen Zheng, No. 2 seed Madison Keys, No. 3 seed Emma Navvaro and No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina all in action.

Zheng will face former US Open winner Emma Raducanu, Keys will take on No. 5 seed Diana Shnaider, Navvaro will go up against No. 8 seed and fellow American Amanda Anisimova, and former Wimbledon champion Rybakina will have to defeat Tatjana Maria to make the final four.
