Alcaraz Reaches Semifinals of 2025 Monte Carlo Masters
Friday’s ATP Tour Results from Monaco
No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz was made to work on Friday at the 2025 Rolex Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco, defeating a very motivated Arthur Fils 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Needing two hours and 24 minutes to prevail, Alcaraz hit 18 winners, broke serve on five occasions, won 69 percent of his first serve points and added three aces to his victory.
Never facing each other on Tour, the tennis world took notice that this could be one of the best rivalries for years to come.
Alcaraz will next face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who easily defeated National Bank Open winner Alexei Popyrin 6-3, 6-2.
Other matches that are still on deck on Friday will see No. 8 seed Alex de Minaur taking on No. 15 seed Grigor Dimitrov, and No. 6 seed and defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas going up against No. 13 seed Lorenzo Musetti.
Saturday’s action in Monaco will feature men’s semifinal action.
