Thursday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Thursday’s exciting schedule of play at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C will feature No. 4 seed Ben Shelton, No. 1 seed Jessica Pegula, Venus Williams, men’s top seed Taylor Fritz and No. 6 seed Frances Tiafoe.
Tiafoe poured in a great performance on Wednesday evening against Alexander Kovacevic 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, and will next face last year’s runner up No. 9 seed Flavio Cobolli.
Fritz will go up against Matteo Arnaldi, Venus Williams takes on No. 5 seed Magdalena Frech, Pegula will face Leylah Fernandez, and Shelton will look to reach the quarterfinals against No. 15 seed Gabriel Diallo.
Naomi Osaka will also go up against Emma Raducanu, and Daniil Medvedev, Sofia Kenin and Alex de Minaur will also be in action.

Generali Open—Kitzbuhel, Austria
No. 6 seed Arthur Rinderknech reached the semifinals in Kitzbuhel, Austria on Thursday, defeating Yannick Hanfmann from Germany 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
Defeating world No. 3 Alexander Zverev in the first round of Wimbledon, Rinderknech is currently ranked No. 65 in the world.
The Frenchman will next face either Jan-Lennard Struff or Arthur Cazaux for a place in the finals.
Top seed Alexander Bublik will be will be action later today against countryman Alexander Shevchenko.
Thiago Seyboth Wild will also take on Botic van de Zandschulp in the day’s final match.

Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag—Umag, Croatia
After ousting tournament top seed on Wednesday, Carlos Taberner returns to action on Thursday in Umag, Croatia to face Jesper de Jong.
Defeating Francisco Cerundolo in three sets on Wednesday, Taberner will look to improve on his ranking of No. 111 in the world by making the semifinals on Thursday.
Other matches on Day 4 will feature No. 2 seed Luciano Darderi facing Dino Prizmic, No. 3 seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli going up against Pablo Llamas Ruiz, and No. 4 seed Damir Dzumhur taking on Titouan Droguet.
Dzumhur ousted three-time Major winner Stan Wawrinka in straight sets on Wednesday.
Wawrinka is currently ranked No. 151 in the world.

Thursday’s results from the Prague Open in the Czech Republic featured No. 5 seed Marie Bouzkova advancing to the semifinals, defeating No. 9 sed Ann Li 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Bouzkova will next face Tereza Valentova, who defeated Jessika Ponchet 6-2, 6-0.
Other matches on the day will feature top seed Linda Noskova taking on Katerina Siniakova, and No. 4 seed Wang Xinyu facing Sara Bejlek from the Czech Republic.
