Draper, Andreeva Win 2025 BNP Paribas Open Titles

British star Jack Draper won the biggest title of his young career on Sunday at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, defeating No. 12 seed Holger Rune 6-2, 6-2.

Needing one hour and nine minutes to seal his prestigious title, Draper struck 21 winners, won 91 percent of his first serve points and broke his Danish opponent on three occasions.

Draper, who ousted two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, will move up to No. 7 in the world in the latest rankings.

The 23-year-old also tied his head-to-head record against Rune at 1-1.

Draper now owns three career titles.

Rune, who was aiming to win his second-career Masters 1000 title, defeated two-time finalist Daniil Medvedev on Saturday. The 21-year-old has four career titles to his name and will be ranked No. 12 on Monday.

The Tour will now shift gears to next week’s second Masters 1000 level event of the season in Miami, Florida. Alexander Zverev will be the top seed.

Sabalenka Scores Important Victory

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka failed to win her first title in Indian Wells on Sunday in Indian Wells, California, losing to inform Russian Mirra Andreeva 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.

In a match that lasted two hours and four minutes, Andreeva hit six aces, won 70 percent of her first serve points and broke her opponent on four occasions.

Andreeva, who has proven that the hype surrounding her is more than valid, defeated defending champion Iga Swiatek in the semifinals, former Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina in the fourth round and No. 22 seed Clara Tauson and No. 23 seed Elina Svitolina en-route to the championship round.

Andreeva will be ranked No. 6 in the world on Monday. A new career high.

Sabalenka, who will remain as the world No. 1 heading into Miami, will be looking to rebuild with a title in front of the Florida fans.
