Tiafoe to Face Shelton on Day 5 at 2025 Mubadala Citi DC Open
Friday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Quarterfinal Friday at the Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington, D.C will feature top seed Taylor Fritz back in action, taking on No. 12 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokika from Spain.
Fritz was a straight sets winner over Matteo Arnaldi from Italy on Thursday.
The day’s marquee match will see No. 4 seed Ben Shelton going up against hometown hero Frances Tiafoe. Shelton currently leads the pair’s head-to-head 2-1.
Other matches on Friday will feature Daniil Medvedev and Alex de Minaur.
On the women’s side, a pair of former Slam winners will be in action. Emma Raducanu, fresh off of a victory over four-time Major winner Naomi Osaka will take on Maria Sakkari for a place in the final four.
No. 3 seed and 2022 Wimbledon winner Elena Rybkina returns to the hard-courts of North America in search of a semifinal position. The Kazakhstan native will face No. 5 seed Magdalena Frech.

Friday’s action in Kitzbuhel, Austria featured Arthur Cazaux reaching his first-career ATP Tour final, defeating No. 6 seed Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-3.
Cazaux, 22, will next face either top seed Alexander Bublik or Botic van de Zandschulp for a place in Saturday’s final.
Bublik, who has been in great form since reaching the quarterfinals of the French Open, will be the favourite to win the title this weekend.

Semifinal matches on Friday in Umag, Croatia will see No. 2 seed Luciano Darderi take on No. 3 seed Camilo Ugo Carabelli, and No. 4 Damir Dzumhur going up against Carlos Taberner from Spain.
Taberner defeated top seed Francisco Cerundolo earlier in the event.

No. 5 seed Marie Bouzkova reached the finals of the Prague Open on Friday, defeating countrywoman Tereza Valentova 6-4, 7-5.
Bouzkova, 27, will await the winner of the day’s second semifinal featuring top seed Linda Noskova taking on No. 4 seed Wang Xinyu from China.
