TENNIS CHANNEL PLATFORMS TO BE EXCLUSIVE HOME OF BNP PARIBAS OPEN, MIAMI OPEN for MARCH 5-30
Springtime “Fifth Slams” in Southern California, South Florida
Return to Network, T2, its App and Website
For the First Time, Everyone in the United States has Monthly Access
to All Live and On-Demand Coverage of Two of the Sport’s Most Important Events
LOS ANGELES Feb. 25, 2025 – Tennis Channel platforms will again be the exclusive U.S. home to the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open, two of the sport’s most prestigious events, from March 5-30. Combined, the channel, its second network T2, its app and website will have live matches throughout both tournaments, sometimes referred to as “Fifth Slams” with their deep, highly ranked player fields and commonly held standing just outside tennis’ four majors. Main draw coverage will take place from the first day of play through the trophy ceremonies of each, beginning Wednesday, March 5, at 2 p.m., when the BNP Paribas Open gets underway in Indian Wells, Calif.
This March anyone in the United States can get monthly access to both events live and on-demand from start to finish along with Tennis Channel’s daily studio coverage for the first time. Tennis Channel’s app and website (TennisChannel.com) offer multiple courts at once or allow fans to select their preferred matches. Introduced in November, the new streaming platform features the traditional Tennis Channel television network in the same place as thousands of hours of additional live and encore matches and other supporting content, for $9.99 a month. The opportunity to see all BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open men’s and women’s matches and Tennis Channel’s telecast in one place – for the month of March alone – did not previously exist.
Tennis Channel’s primary television network plans round-the-clock coverage in Indian Wells and Miami again this year, with up to 12-hour live match blocks followed by all-night encore replays leading up to the following day’s play (complete schedule below). The channel will devote close to 580 total hours to these events in March, with almost 245 live and another 335 hours of encores.
During the BNP Paribas Open this translates to close to 120 live and 158 encore hours in 2025, beginning Wednesday, March 5. Daily telecasts begin with lead-in show Tennis Channel Live at the BNP Paribas Open at 1 p.m. ET most days, with matches at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden
beginning an hour later. The women’s singles final will take place Sunday, March 16, at 2 p.m.ET, with the men’s singles final later at 5 p.m. ET.
The BNP Paribas will again host a special annual exhibition, The Eisenhower Cup, on the eve of the tournament’s main draw, which Tennis Channel will carry live. Set for Tuesday, March 4, at 10:30 p.m. ET, the event will feature several of the game’s biggest names, among them American stars Taylor Fritz, Madison Keys, Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro.
Miami Open coverage will take a similar approach to Indian Wells, with the action underway most mornings at 11 a.m. ET, beginning Tuesday, March 18. Tennis Channel Live at the Miami Open will be a wrap-up instead of lead-in show, appearing immediately following the day’s live matches. In all, Tennis Channel plans to show around 125 live and more than 175 encore hours from the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. Saturday, March 29, will see the women’s singles final at 3 p.m. ET. The men’s singles final will take place Sunday, March 30, at the same time.
The network’s second channel, T2, will feature live matches that do not appear on Tennis Channel through much of each tournament. This includes 71 live and 145 encore hours in Indian Wells, and 75 live and 160 encore hours in Miami. The channel is free to everyone in the United States, and available on a wide variety of platforms, among them Amazon Fire TV, Roku and Samsung TV+.
On-Air Talent
On-air talent during Tennis Channel’s coverage of Indian Wells and Miami includes five Hall of Famers: Martina Navratilova (@Martina), Tracy Austin (@thetracyaustin), Jim Courier, Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76) and Andy Roddick (@andyroddick). Navratilova will offer analysis at the Miami Open, while Austin and Roddick share their insights on the BNP Paribas Open. Courier and Davenport will provide their thoughts during both events.
Once of the most accomplished athletes of all time, Navratilova was a singles champion in Southern California in 1990-1991 and South Florida in 1985, the same year she won the doubles and mixed-doubles competition at the latter. Courier won singles crowns at both events in 1991, becoming the first man to do so, and also won the Indian Wells doubles title. He took singles in the California desert again in 1993.
Southern California native Davenport dominated in her local event, winning singles in 1997 and 2000, and doubles in 1994-1995, 1997-1998, 2000 and 2003. Roddick hoisted the singles trophy twice in Miami, in 2004 and 2010, and prevailed in doubles at Indian Wells in 2009.
The network’s on-air team features several other former professional players in announcer, analyst and interviewer roles. Chanda Rubin (@Chanda_Rubin), Jason Goodall and Mark Petchey (@_markpetchey) will handle play-by-play duties, with Rubin calling matches at both tournaments while Goodall handles Indian Wells and Petchey sees to Miami. Former players Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone), Jimmy Arias (@ariastennis), Coco Vandeweghe (@CocoVandey), Sam Querrey, Monica Puig (@MonicaAce93), Andrea Petkovic (@andreapetkovic), Mark Knowles (@knowlzee10s) and Nick Monroe (@nickmonroe10s) will provide their perspective as analysts during next month’s events. Annacone, Querrey and Monroe will appear during the BNP Paribas Open, with Arias, Puig, Petkovic and Knowles set for Miami Open coverage. Vandeweghe will add her thoughts during coverage of both.
Tennis Channel global-reporter Prakash Amritraj (@PrakashAmritraj) will conduct interviews with current players from both tournament desks.
Rubin won doubles at the BNP Paribas Open in 1996, and Annacone did the same at the Miami Open in 1985 and 1987. Knowles found doubles success as well at both, taking championships in Southern California in 1997, 2002, 2005 and 2006, and in South Florida in 2002. Vandeweghe also captured each tournament as a doubles star, in Indian Wells in 2016 and Miami in 2018. In her playing career, Petkovic reached the semifinals in Miami in 2015.
Emmy Award-winning Tennis Channel announcer Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) returns to booth at both tournaments again this year. Fellow network mainstay Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will resume his hosting duties for the network’s desk in Indian Wells and studio show Tennis Channel Live at the Miami Open. Roddick and Vandeweghe will appear on the show as well. Announcer Geoff Chizever (@Geoff_Chiz) will man T2’s Second Serve studio show during the BNP Paribas Open, joined by Austin, Arias and Monroe. As she does for the channel throughout the tennis season, Dani Klupenger (@daniklup) will co-host the tournament desk in Miami with Amritraj.
In addition to following BNP Paribas Opena and Miami Open action on Tennis Channel’s app and website, fans can visit Tennis.com to keep up with everything that’s happening in March.
