Needing one hour and 37 minutes to advance, Swiatek won 64 percent of her first serve points, hit 10 winners and broke serve on four occasions.

Improving to 11-1 against Gauff in lifetime meetings, Swiatek will aim to win her fifth Major title on Saturday against either Mirra Andreeva or Jasmine Paolini.

Andreeva defeated an ailing No. 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka in three sets on Thursday, while Paolini ousted an out-of-sorts No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina earlier in the day.
