Monday’s schedule at the Cincinnati Open in Mason, Ohio will feature top seeds Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka back in action.
Sinner will highlight the night session against hard-hitting Canadian Gabriel Diallo, and Sabalenka will take on former US Open winner Emma Raducanu during the day session.
Both Sinner and Sabalenka are the defending champions of the event.
Other matches to watch for on Monday will be No. 4 seed Taylor Fritz taking on No. 31 seed Lorenzo Sonego and reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys facing Aoi Ito from Japan.
Results that have already been recorded today will feature No. 7 seed Holger Rune defeating No. 28 seed Alex Michelsen, No. 12 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova ousting Maya Joint 6-4, 6-3, and Jessica Bouzas Maneiro continuing her recent good form by dispatching Taylor Townsend 6-4, 6-1.
No. 23 seed Felix Auger-Aliassime advanced to the round of 16 when Arthur Rinderknech retired in the middle of the second set due to illness. Auger-Aliassime was leading 7-6(4), 4-2.
No. 10 seed Frances Tiafoe, No. 13 seed Tommy Paul, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Joao Fonseca will also be in action today.
On the women’s side, No. 5 seed Amanda Anisimova, and No. 9 seed Elena Rybakina will play their round of 32 matches later on Monday.
On Sunday, No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz was made to work in reaching the third round, needing three sets to defeat Damir Dzumhur 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 in one hour and 41 minutes.
Alcaraz will next face Hamad Medjedovic from Serbia for a place in the fourth round.
No. 2 seed Coco Gauff, No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula, and No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini all reached the third round of Sunday.
No. 8 seed and American favourite Emma Navarro was ousted Ella Seidel 6-4, 1-6, 6-4.
