Sabalenka Wins 2025 Miami Open Title
Saturday’s WTA Results from South Florida
Saturday’s women’s final at the Miami Open presented by Itau saw top seed Aryna Sabalenka win her first title in South Florida, defeating No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula 7-5, 6-2.
In a match that lasted one hour and 28 minutes, Sabalenka hit three aces, won 58 percent of her first serve points and broke her American opponent on seven occasions. Sabalenka’s title on Saturday was also the 19th of her career.
Improving to 7-2 against Pegula in lifetime meetings, Sabalenka didn’t lose a set all tournament and will now set her focus on the clay-court season.
The Belarus native has never won the French Open in Paris, France.
Pegula, who was looking to capture the eighth title of her successful career, had to battle through three, three set matches en-route to the finals. She will remain at No. 4 in the world when the latest rankings are released.

Men’s Final Preview: Djokovic vs. Mensik
Sunday’s men’s final at the Miami Open will feature No. 4 seed Novak Djokovic attempting to win his 100th career title against unseeded Czech and 19-year-old Jakub Mensik.
Not losing a set on his way to the finals, Djokovic will take a 1-0 head-to-head lead against Mensik on Sunday. The Serbian star defeated his upcoming opponent in the quarterfinals of the Rolex Shanghai Masters last year.
Djokovic has not won a Tour level event since winning the ATP Finals in Turin, Italy in November of 2023.
The 37-year-old did complete his trophy collection last year at the Olympic Games, defeating current world No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz for the Gold Medal.
Mensik, who will be playing in his second-career Tour final, defeated No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz, recent BNP Paribas Open winner Jack Draper, and No. 17 seed Arthur Fils earlier in the tournament.
The Prostejov native has a big game and will be a formidable opponent for Djokovic on Sunday.
