Star Known for Electric On-Court Play and Direct Off-Court Points of View will be on Network Team that Includes Major Winners Jim Courier, Andy Roddick and Paul Annacone

All-Time Great Novak Djokovic, Young Phenom Carlos Alcaraz Headline Year-End Singles Field; Americans Punctuate Doubles Draw

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7, 2023 – Nick Kyrgios (@NickKyrgios), whose electric style of play and straight-to-the-point conversational approach have endeared him to millions of fans around the world, is joining Tennis Channel as an analyst during its coverage of the ATP Finals November 12-19. It will be Kyrgios’ first time working with the network, and it will happen during the most exclusive event in men’s tennis, with just the top-eight singles players and doubles teams qualifying for the event based on points earned during the 2023 season. Tennis Channel’s telecast begins Sunday, Nov. 12, at 6 a.m. ET.

Stars Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are the top-ranked singles players in the world and between them have won every major singles title since Wimbledon in 2022. They headline a field of other high-ranked players who typically meet during semifinal and final rounds throughout the year. The world’s best doubles will also be on display in Turin, Italy, including teams with Americans Austin Krajicek (doubles World No. 1) and Rajeev Ram (No. 5).

The first seven days of the event feature two daily sessions with a singles and doubles match each. Coverage of the first session each day begins with doubles at 6 a.m. ET followed by singles at 8:30 a.m. ET. The second session typically shows doubles at 12:30 p.m. ET and singles at 3 p.m. ET (on Friday, Nov. 17, these will begin at 12 p.m. ET and 2:30 p.m. ET). Sunday, Nov. 19, will see the doubles final at 9 a.m. ET, followed by the singles championship at 12 p.m. ET. Tennis Channel plans to show more than 60 live hours of ATP Finals competition, followed by an additional 105 encore hours.
Select matches will appear live on subscription service Tennis Channel Plus, with all ATP Finals competition available on-demand on the platform following their completion.
The ATP Finals uses the same format for singles and doubles. The eight singles players or doubles teams are split into two groups of four each, with everyone playing everyone else in his or their group. Following round-robin play most of the week, the top two from each group head to the single-elimination semifinals on November 18. The finals take place the following afternoon.
On-Air Talent

Krygios competed in the ATP Finals doubles draw in 2022, playing three matches in the group stage. His season was a highly successful one. He won the doubles crown at his native Australian Open and then reached the singles finals at Wimbledon. With Tennis Channel, he adds to an on-air team with several years of ATP Finals experience. In both 1991 and 1992, Hall of Famer Jim Courier reached the singles final at the event. He returns as an analyst during matches in Turin next week. Fellow Hall of Famer Andy Roddick (@andyroddick) played his way to the tournament’s semifinals in 2003, 2004 and 2007, and will offer insight during daily studio show Tennis Channel Live at the ATP Finals. Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone), who coached legends Pete Sampras and Roger Federer to major-tennis greatness, also played in the men’s season-ending competition in 1985 and is back to share match commentary this year.

Emmy Award-winning announcer Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) will call ATP Finals matches for Tennis Channel, working at different times with Courier, Kyrgios and Annacone. Longtime network host and announcer Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will host Tennis Channel Live at the ATP Finals, joined by Courier, Roddick and Kyrgios.
The singles and doubles fields and seedings are set. In addition to Djokovic (seeded No. 1) and Alcaraz (No. 2), the singles event’s No. 3-8 seeds are Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Holger Rune.
Krajicek plays doubles with Ivan Dodig and has earned the tournament’s top seed. Fellow American Ram partners with Joe Salisbury, with whom he won this year’s US Open title. The team is the defending APT Finals doubles champion and are seeded sixth. The No. 2-5 seeds are Wesley Koolhof/Neal Skupski, Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden, Marcel Granollers/Horacio Zeballos and Santiago Gonzalez/Edouard Roger-Vasselin. Rounding out the field are Maximo Gonzalez/Andrews Molteni (No. 7) and Rinky Hijikata/Jason Kubler (No. 8).
