Nakashima Advances at 2025 Boss Open
Monday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
The official start to the grass-court season is here. On Monday, No. 6 seed Brandon Nakashima advanced to the second round in Stuttgart, Germany, defeating Jacob Fearnley from Great Britain 4-6, 7-6(4), 6-1.
Needing one hour and 54 minutes to advance, Nakashima will next face either countryman Learner Tien or Yoshihito Nishioka from Japan.
Other winners on the day saw No. 8 seed Jiri Lehecka and Jan-Lennard Struff advance to round two.
Towering Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard will be in action later today against Roman Safiullin from Russia.
On Tuesday, No. 5 seed Denis Shapovalov, Gael Monfils and Lorenzo Sonego will be in action.

Libema Open—Netherlands
Monday’s action at the Libema Open in the Netherlands saw No. 7 seed Nuno Borges, Canadian Gabriel Diallo, and Chilean Nicolas Jarry all advance to round two.
Borges defeated Nishesh Basavareddy from the United States 7-6(2), 6-2, and will next face either Otto Virtanen or Tomas Martin Etcheverry for a place in the quarterfinals.
On the women’s side, Yue Yuan, No. 3 seed Elise Mertens, No. 7 seed Lulu Sun, and Elisabetta Cocciaretto all prevailed.
Mertens will next face Anouk Koevermans or Maria Sakkari.
On Tuesday, Reilly Opelka, top seed Liudmila Samsonova, No. 2 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Danielle Collins will be in action.

The HSBC Championship—London—Great Britain
Monday’s schedule at the women’s Queen’s Club event in London featured former Wimbledon winner Petra Kvitova crashing out of the event, losing to Beatriz Haddad-Maia 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
Kvitova, who returned to the Tour this year after giving birth to her first child, stands at 1-6 on the season.
Haddad-Maia will face No. 3 seeded American Emma Navarro on Wednesday.
Other winners on the day included Sonay Kartal and Tatjana Maria.
Tuesday’s order of play will include Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter from Great Britain.
