Medvedev Wins Rotterdam Title; Alcaraz Claims Buenos Aires Crown; Fritz Captures Delray Beach Open

Former US Open winner Daniil Medvedev captured his 16th career ATP Tour title on Sunday in Rotterdam, Netherlands, defeating Jannik Sinner 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.

Needing two hours and 29 minutes to prevail, Medvedev overcame the loss of the first set against his inform opponent. Striking four aces and winning 75 percent of his first serve points, Medvedev broke his younger opponent on five occasions.

Winning his first title since Los Cabos in August, Medvedev will move up to No. 8 in the world on Monday.

Sinner, who was looking to win his second title in as many weeks, will be ranked No. 12 on Monday.

The Italian won the title in Montpellier, France last week.

Argentina Open—Buenos Aires, Argentina

Playing in his first event of the season in Buenos Aires, Argentina, top seed Carlos Alcaraz stormed to his seventh career title over No. 2 seed Cameron Norrie, 6-3, 7-5.

Needing one hour and 22 minutes to claim his crown, Alcaraz hit three aces, won 76 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on four occasions.

Improving to to 4-1 against Norrie in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz will remain at No. 2 in the world when Monday’s rankings are released.

Norrie, who continues to play top-flight tennis, will be ranked No. 13 on Monday.

Delray Beach Open—Delray Beach, FL, U.S.A.

Top ranked American Taylor Fritz won his fifth career title on Sunday in Delray Beach, Florida, dispatching No. 4 seed Miomir Kecmanovic 6-0, 5-7, 6-2.

Sealing his victory after one hour and 58 minutes, Fritz breezed through the opening set before finding himself in a tough contest.

Winning 95 percent of his first serve points, Fritz slammed 10 aces and broke serve on five occasions.

The 25-year-old will remain at No. 7 in the world on Monday.

Kecmanovic, who was aiming to win his second career title, will move up to No. 30 in the world when the latest rankings are released. The 23-year-old entered the week ranked No. 70.
