MIAMI, Fla. (www.sonyopentennis.com) – Former World No. 1 Martina Hingis, has been granted a doubles main draw wildcard for this year’s Sony Open. Hingis, winner of five Grand Slam singles titles and nine Grand Slam doubles titles, will partner with 2013 Wimbledon finalist, Sabine Lisicki.

Hingis, a recent Hall of Famer, has won the doubles title twice here in Key Biscayne and is looking to see if she can add one more title to the mantel. Hingis last played in Miami in 2007.

The tournament begins Tuesday, March 18 with women’s main draw singles followed by men’s main draw singles and women’s doubles on Wednesday, March 19. Reserve your tickets to the 2014 Sony Open today. Tickets are available and can be purchased online at www.SonyOpenTennis.com or by phone at 305-442-3367.

Hingis brings even more star-power to an already loaded player field.

On the men’s side fans will have the opportunity to see World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, 17-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, World No. 2 Novak Djokovic, defending Sony Open champion Andy Murray and newly crowned Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka.

The women’s field is just as impressive with World No. 1 and defending champion Serena Williams, four-time Grand Slam champion Maria Sharapova, seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams and Australian Open champion Li Na.

But the Sony Open is not just a tennis tournament, it is a lifestyle event. The Sony Open offers a range of activities for the entire family. From the die-hard tennis fan to the casual consumer, the Sony Open features food by world-class chefs, luxurious shopping options, live music, beautiful weather and a host of other activities.

Come out and see why the Sony Open is considered the place to be in March!
