Djokovic Reaches 2025 Miami Open Finals

Friday’s action from the Miami Open presented by Itau featured all-time great Novak Djokovic reaching yet another final.
Defeating Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-3, Djokovic hit 10 winners and struck five aces during the one hour and 10 minute encounter.
Improving to 13-1 against Dimitrov in lifetime meetings, Djokovic will head into Sunday’s final against either No. 3 seed Taylor Fritz or Czech upstart Jakub Mensik.
Djokovic, who is currently ranked No. 5 in the world, hadn’t played in Miami since 2019. The Serbian legend will also be looking to win his 100th career title on Sunday.
Fritz will take a 1-0 series lead against Mensik into Friday’s evening session. The American star is aiming to win his second-career Masters 1000 event this weekend. He captured the 2022 BNP Paribas Open title over Rafael Nadal.

Women’s Final Preview: Sabalenka vs. Pegula
Saturday’s women’s final will feature top seed Aryna Sabalenka against No. 4 seed Jessica Pegula.
In a rematch of the recent US Open and Cincinnati Open finals, Sabalenka will take a 6-2 head-to-head record lead against Pegula. The Belarus native continues to dominate the WTA, and will be the overwhelming favourite to capture to her first-career Miami Open title.
The 26-year-old hasn’t lost a set en-route to the finals. A title on Sunday would also be Sabalenka’s 19th.
Pegula, who is known as one of the best hard-court players in the world, defeated Alexandra Eala in three tough sets on Thursday evening. The American enters Saturday’s final having played three, three set matches. She will be aiming for her eighth career title on Saturday.
