Network and its Platforms will Have Exclusive Live Coverage of 16-Nation Group Stage September 13-18, with Winners Advancing to November Finals

Daily, Multi-Hour Match Blocks Planned for Tennis Channel,
Subscription Service Tennis Channel Plus and Free Samsung TV Plus Channel T2

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 12, 2022 – Tennis Channel will offer exclusive, live coverage of the Davis Cup Finals Group Stage across multiple platforms Sept. 13-18, including the three matches the United States will play in Glasgow, Scotland, Sept. 14-17. The network will carry Davis Cup competition on its original linear television network, its subscription streaming service Tennis Channel Plus and T2 – its second linear television network – which is free on Samsung TV Plus. The daily, multi-hour action begins Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 9 a.m. ET (schedule information below).

Since 1900 Davis Cup has determined the best country in men’s tennis, with the United States winning a record 32 cups. The Americans’ most recent title came in 2017. Teams representing 16 countries will meet in four cities this week, separated into four groups of four each. Each team will play three matches against the others in its group, with the top-two teams in each pool advancing to the Davis Cup Finals in late November.

The United States Davis Cup team will play Britain Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m. ET. Its next match will be against Kazakhstan, Thursday, Sept. 15, also at 11 a.m. ET. The Americans will wrap their group-stage schedule with Netherlands on Saturday, Sept. 17, at 9 a.m. ET. All matches will be on Tennis Channel.

The network will devote close to 50 live television hours to Davis Cup Finals Group Stage coverage, with more than 40 encore hours. Longtime commentator and former players Leif Shiras (@ShirasLeif) and Jan-Michael Gambill (@JanmikeGambill), along with announcer Ari Wolf, will man Tennis Channel’s Davis Cup desk.

With United States’ captain Mardy Fish recovering from Covid-19, acting captain Bob Bryan will helm the Americans in Glasgow this week. Bryan is one half of perhaps the greatest doubles team of all time: he and his twin brother Mike won an Open Era record 1,108 matches, all four majors, the year-end championships, nine ATP Masters 1000 events and an Olympic gold medal. They also won the clinching match at the 2017 Davis Cup Finals.

Top-ranked American singles player Taylor Fritz (World No. 12) leads the U.S. team into action. Fritz achieved a career milestone this spring when he won the BNP Paribas Open singles championship in Indian Wells, Calif. Tommy Paul is also having a personal-best year in 2022, racking up 29 wins – his most in a single season – with two victories over top five-ranked players, another first for him. Jack Sock is a Wimbledon and US Open doubles champion and Olympic mixed-doubles gold medalist. World No. 2 doubles player Rajeev Ram rounds out the squad and just won his second consecutive US Open doubles championship. Ram has a 2-0 Davis Cup record when playing doubles with Sock.

In addition to the American stars, top 10-ranked players from around the world will compete in this week’s Davis Cup group stage. Among them: all-time great Novak Djokovic (Serbia), Alexander Zverev (Germany), Carlos Alcaraz (Spain) and Cameron Norrie (Britain). The group breakdown is as follows:

Group A (Bologna, Italy) Group B (Valencia, Spain)
Argentina, Croatia, Italy, Sweden Canada, Serbia, South Korea, Spain

Group C (Hamburg, Germany) Group D (Glasgow, Scotland)
Australia, Belgium, France, Germany Britain, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, United States

As part of the network’s Center Court coverage, Davis Cup matches will be included among simultaneous men’s and women’s events from around the world. Complete, daily schedules can be found at: www.tennischannel.com/schedule.

Tennis Channel (www.tennischannel.com) which is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, is the only television-based multiplatform destination dedicated to both the professional sport and tennis lifestyle. The network has the most concentrated single-sport coverage in television in one of the world’s most voluminous sports, with multiple men’s and women’s tournaments and singles, doubles and mixed competition throughout the year. Tennis Channel has rights at the four majors – US Open, Wimbledon, Roland Garros (French Open) and Australian Open – and is the exclusive U.S. home of all men’s ATP World Tour and women’s WTA Tour competitions, Laver Cup and Billie Jean King Cup. Direct-to-consumer streaming service Tennis Channel Plus is available to everyone in the United States and allows subscribers to select from another 4,500 live and on-demand matches and award-winning content from short-form to films throughout the tennis season. Tennis Channel International brings live competition and network content to markets in Europe and Asia via digital subscription and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels. Additional platforms Tennis Magazine and www.tennis.com are the largest print and digital outlets dedicated to the sport. Tennis Channel also manages a network of close to 20 podcasts.
