AUSTRALIAN OPEN RETURNS TO TENNIS CHANNEL JANUARY 15
Daily Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open, Encore Highlight Replays
Set for Two-Week Major
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9, 2023 – Tennis Channel’s annual Australian Open telecast will take place January 15-29. The network will again have daily analysis, highlights, news and encore replays at the first major of the year, underway with Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open Sunday, Jan. 15, at 5 p.m. ET. This is Tennis Channel’s 16th year of Australian Open coverage, with its first in 2008.
Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open will feature Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova (@Martina) and Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76). Navratilova won a mixed-doubles, three singles and eight doubles crowns at the Australian Open during her career. Davenport won the event’s singles title in 2000 and was a six-time doubles finalist. Former player and network global reporter Prakash Amritraj (@PrakashAmritraj) will also join the show, as will reporter and author Jon Wertheim (@jon_wertheim). Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) will host the conversation, focusing on the tournament and player storylines as they unfold in Melbourne.
The program will run at 5 p.m. ET every day of the two-week tournament (with a 6 p.m. start-time exception on Wednesday, Jan. 18). From Sunday, Jan. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 22, Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open will air two hours each day. The second week, from Monday, Jan. 23, through Sunday, Jan. 29, the show will last one hour.
Tennis Channel will also provide daily encore highlights and replays with host Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) and former player and coach Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone). Annacone won the Australian Open doubles championship in 1985. The encores get underway with first-round matches Monday, Jan. 16, at 7 a.m. ET.
