The clay court season has arrived on the ATP Tour and WTA.

Tennis fans, we are on the brink of an exciting new era! With the start of each new year comes the anticipation of all that is to come. While 2022 has just reached its conclusion, now is the time to start looking ahead to 2023 and its four illustrious Grand Slam tournaments.

Indeed, there will be plenty of focus on these events, as tennis continues to gain traction with sports wagering enthusiasts. There are a number of opportunities now available for punters, with live in-play wagering being a favourite. Many utilize a guide to in-play betting to ensure they are getting the best experiences with each tournament that takes place, too.

Australian Open Kicks The 2023 Season Off

The first Grand Slam tournament of 2023 will be the Australian Open, held in Melbourne over two weeks in January. This tournament is known for its hard courts, which reward a powerful and aggressive playing style. Rafael Nadal managed to win his second Australian Open in last year’s edition of the Grand Slam, with the Spaniard capturing his 21st major title in the process. Native Ashleigh Barty was able to win the women’s singles title which would ultimately be her third major and her first in this competition before deciding to shock the world with her retirement in March.

Roland Garros (French Open)

The second Grand Slam tournament will be Roland Garros (or French Open), held from late May through early June. This clay court tournament is known for its slower play due to the nature of clay courts and rewards those players with strong defensive skill sets and excellent footwork. In 2022, Nadal made it back-to-back victories in regard to a Grand Slam as he picked up his 14th title at the event and continued his dominance, whereas Iga Swiatek looks to start her own era of dominance in France as the Polish star won her second title at Roland Garros following her 2020 success.

Wimbledon

In July comes Wimbledon, the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world! This grass-court event has a long history and rich tradition that lends itself to some truly spectacular matches each year. It will be interesting to see which players are able to rise above the rest at Wimbledon this year, with a number of exciting talents coming through the game. Last season saw Novak Djokovic defend his title and capture his seventh in the process, while Elena Rybakina won her maiden Grand Slam title as Barty did not defend her crown.

The US Open is the Final Grand Slam of 2023

Finally, there is the US Open; the last major of 2023 and traditionally one of the most exciting tournaments! Held over two weeks in September on hard courts similar to but slightly faster than those used at Australia’s Open Championships this tournament rewards strong serves coupled with powerful groundstrokes from both men and women alike. Carlos Alcaraz capped off an excellent year as one of the most exciting players in the men’s game won his first title, while ?wi?tek managed to add another Grand Slam to her collection, with the pair making history as they became the first two players born in the 2000s to win the men’s and women’s disciplines of a major tournament.

Plenty of Excitement to Look Forward To

2023 promises plenty of excitement across all four Grand Slam tournaments! With a number of incredible stars taking to the court and a number of names starting to make headlines within the sport, next year could be one of the best we have seen for the sport of tennis!
