Alcaraz, Sabalenka Reach 2025 Wimbledon Semifinals
Tuesday’s Results from Wimbledon
No. 2 seed and two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz ended the hopes of local favourite Cameron Norrie at Wimbledon on Tuesday, defeating the former semifinalist 6-2, 6-3, 6-3.
Needing one hour and 39 minutes to advance, Alcaraz struck 37 winners, 13 aces, broke serve on five occasions and won 89 percent of his first serve points.
Alcaraz will now await No. 5 seeded American Taylor Fritz in the semifinals. The US Open finalist dismissed former top 10 Russian Karen Khachanov 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6(4) in two hours and 36 minutes.
Alcaraz and Fritz have met on two occasions. The Spaniard has won both encounters on hard-courts. Fritz enters Wimbledon having won two grass-court tune-up events in Stuttgart, Germany and Eastbourne, Great Britain.
The 27-year-old has won the Eastbourne title on four occasions.
On Wednesday, top seeded Jannik Sinner will face No. 10 seed Ben Shelton, and No. 6 seed Novak Djokovic takes the court against No. 22 seed Flavio Cobolli.
Sinner advanced passed an injured No. 19 seed Grigor Dimitrov on Monday, and Djokovic got past No. 11 seed Alex de Minuar in straight sets.

Sabalenka Reaches Semifinals
Wimbledon glory continues for top ranked Aryna Sabalenka. On Tuesday, the world No. 1 took one step closer to claiming her first title at The Championships, defeating Laura Siegemund from Germany 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Winning her encounter in straight sets, Sabalenka needed two hours and 54 minutes to make the final four. The Belorussian hit two aces, 29 winners, broke serve on eight occasions and won 63 percent of her first serve points.
The three-time Major winner will next face No. 13 seed Amanda Anisiamova from the United States. The powerful American defeated veteran Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 7-6(9).
Wednesday’s schedule of play in London will see No. 7 seed Mirra Andreeva facing Belinda Bencic, and No. 8 seed Iga Switaek taking on No. 19 seed Liudmila Samsonova.
