Alcaraz Reaches First French Open Final
No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz reached the finals of the French Open on Friday, defeating No. 2 seed Jannik Sinner 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Needing four hours and nine minutes to advance, Alcaraz hit eight aces, won 66 percent of his first serve points and broke serve on six occasions.
Improving to 5-4 against Sinner in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz will next face No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev.
Zverev ousted No. 7 seed Casper Ruud 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in the day’s second semifinal.
Alcaraz, who already owns two Grand Slam titles, will look to win his third out of four on Sunday. He previously captured the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
Sinner, who will be ranked No. 1 in the world on Monday, won his maiden Grand Slam at the Australian Open in January.

Women’s Final Preview
Saturday’s women’s final in Paris will feature clay-court Queen Iga Swiatek facing No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini.
Swiatek, who will be looking to claim her fifth Major on Sunday, remains the unanimous favourite to win her fourth French Open title.
The 23-year-old Pole recently won the Madrid Open and Italian Open over Aryna Sabalenka.
Paolini, who will be contesting her first Grand Slam final, defeated 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva in the semifinals. The 28-year-old won her second career title in Doha, Qatar earlier this year.
