Alcaraz Advances to First Monte Carlo Final
Saturday’s ATP Tour Results from Monaco
No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz reached his first final at the 2025 Rolex Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco on Saturday, defeating countryman Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7-6(2), 6-4.
Needing two hours and nine minutes to advance to the championship round, Alcaraz hit 21 winners, broke serve on three occasions and won 65 percent of his first serve points.
Improving to 2-0 against Davidovich Fokina in lifetime meetings, Alcaraz will next face either No. 8 seed Alex de Minaur or No. 13 seed Lorenzo Musetti for the title.
Alejandro Davidovich has had a fantastic start to the season, which has included reaching the finals in Delray Beach, Florida, and in Acapulco, Mexico. The 25-year-old currently has 18 wins on the season to only nine losses.
Alcaraz will be going for his 18th career title on Sunday and second this year. He won the indoor title in Rotterdam, Netherlands in February.
De Minaur will be aiming for his 10th career title this weekend, and Musetti will be vying for his third.
Alcaraz currently owns 3-1 head-to-head lead over Musetti, and a 3-0 series advantage over de Minaur.
