Zverev, Gauff, Rune and Navarro Highlight Day 3 Action at 2025 National Bank Open
Tuesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results and Previews from Toronto and Montreal
Tuesday’s stellar lineup at the National Bank Open in Toronto will see top seed Alexander Zverev play his first match of the event, taking on Adam Walton from Australia.
Struggling to find his form this year following his appearance the finals of the Australian Open, Zverev has one title on the season and 14 losses. Zverev enters the Canadian Open on a two match losing streak.
Other matches on the day will see No. 5 seed Holger Rune taking on Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard from France, No. 3 Lorenzo Musetti going up against James Duckworth, and No. 22 seed Denis Shapovalov facing Learner Tien from the United States.
Joao Fonseca dropped out of the event on Monday, losing in straight sets to Tristain Schoolkate from Australia 7-6(5), 6-4. Fonseca fell to 15-12 on the season.
Gauff, Navarro Light Up Montreal on Tuesday
Top seed Coco Gauff returns to action on Tuesday in Montreal, Canada, taking on fellow American Danielle Collins. Gauff is playing her first match since losing in the opening round of Wimbledon to Dayana Yastremska.
Other matches on the day will see No. 4 seed Mirra Andreeva, No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini, and No. 9 seed Elena Rybakina on court.
Andreeva will take on former US Open winner Bianca Andresscu, and recent Washington, D.C. champion Leylah Fernandez will go up against Maya Joint from Australia.
Navarro will take on Rebecca Marino, and Victoria Mboko will face No. 23 seed Sofia Kenin.
On Monday evening, Genie Bouchard extended her career by defeating Emiliana Arango 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. The former world No. 5 will face Belinda Bencic on Thursday in Montreal.
Maria Sakkari ended Monday’s schedule by ousting Carson Branstine in three sets.
