Khachanov Advances to Second Round of 2025 Dubai Championships
Monday’s action at the ATP Tour event at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates featured former world No. 8 and seven-time ATP Tour title winner Karen Khachanov reaching the second round.
Defeating Brit Dan Evans 6-1, 6-3, Khachanov won 74 percent of his first serve points and broke his opponent on five occasions.
Khachanov, who is currently ranked No. 24 in the world, will next face either No 4 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas or Lorenzo Sonego.
Other winners on the day included Zizou Bergs, Roberto Bautista Agut and Alexei Popyrin.
Matches that are still to come on Monday will included towering Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard taking on Zhizhen Zhang.
Tuesday’s schedule in Dubai will feature top seed Daniil Medvedev, No. 2 seed Alex de Minuar and No. 3 seed and recent Doha champion Andrey Rublev.
