Sinner Leads Loaded Men’s Field Featuring Djokovic, Alcaraz and Kyrgios

Defending champion Jannik Sinner returns Down Under to defend the title he won 12 months ago. Racking up countless ranking points and titles in 2024, Sinner will have to fend off a stacked field, which will include 10-time former winner Novak Djokovic, four-time Grand Slam Champion Carlos Alcaraz and returning Australian Nick Kyrgios.

Djokovic, who had a subpar year in 2024 apart from winning the Olympic Gold Medal, recently hired three-time Major winner Andy Murray as his new coach. Djokovic will be looking to invigorate his game as he challenges the new crop of champions.

Alcaraz, who is an Australian Open away from winning the career Slam, will be fully motivated as he heads to Australia. The Spaniard is without a doubt the most exciting player to watch on Tour, and the fans will be eager to see his progress throughout the fortnight.

Finally, the 2025 edition of the Australian Open will feature the return of Nick Kyrgios.

The mercurial Aussie has missed the last two seasons with a wrist and knee injury but has vowed to get his game back to the top.

The 29-year-old has made the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in 2015 and the finals of Wimbledon in 2022.

Sabalenka Looks for Three-Peat in Melbourne

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka returns to her most successful Slam in search of a three-peat. The 26-year-old from Belarus had an excellent 2024 season, marked with two Major victories.

Proving that her game is best suited for hard-courts, Sabalenka will be joined in the 128 player field by five-time Major winner Iga Swiatek, former US Open champion Coco Gauff and Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina.

Other contenders to the 2025 title will be two-time Major winner Barbora Krejcikova, Olympic Gold Medalist and last year’s finalist Qinwen Zheng, and US Open finalist Jessica Pegula.

The 2025 Australian Open will take place at Melbourne Park from January 6 – 26, 2025.
