Alcaraz Wins First French Open Title Over Zverev
No. 3 seed Carlos Alcaraz captured his third Major title on Sunday in Paris, France, defeating No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 to win his first French Open.
In a match that lasted four hours and 19 minutes, Alcaraz hit 52 winners, broke serve on nine occasions and struck three aces.
Improving his head-to-head matches with Zverev at five wins a piece, Alcaraz now owns three of the four Majors on his resume. The 21-year-old will have a chance to complete his Grand Slam collection at the 2025 Australian Open.
Defeating Sebastian Korda, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Stefanos Tsitipas and newly crowed world No. 1 Jannik en-route the finals, Alcaraz proved that his athletic game is built for all surfaces. He defeated Novak Djokovic for the Wimbledon titlel last year and Casper Ruud for his maiden Slam at the 2022 US Open.

Zverev, who was looking to win his first-ever Major, fell to 0-2 in Grand Slam finals. The 27-year-old German also lost in the finals of the 2020 US Open in five sets to Austrian Dominic Thiem.

Swiatek Reigns at Roland Garros
The Queen of Clay reigned supreme once again in 2024. Top ranked Iga Swiatek won her fourth French Open title, cruising past Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 in one hour and eight minutes.
Swiatek, who know owns five Major titles, is well on her way to being one of the greatest players of all time.
The world No. 1 will now set her sights on winning her first Wimbledon title next month in London, England.
