MIAMI, Fla. (www.sonyopentennis.com) – Former World No. 1 Martina Hingis, has been granted a doubles main draw wildcard for this year’s Sony Open. Hingis, winner of five Grand Slam singles titles and nine Grand Slam doubles titles, will partner with 2013 Wimbledon finalist, Sabine Lisicki.
Hingis, a recent Hall of Famer, has won the doubles title twice here in Key Biscayne and is looking to see if she can add one more title to the mantel. Hingis last played in Miami in 2007.
The tournament begins Tuesday, March 18 with women’s main draw singles followed by men’s main draw singles and women’s doubles on Wednesday, March 19.
