Coupe Rogers—Montreal, Canada

No. 4 seed Alexander Zverev upended crowd favorite and No. 2 seed Roger Federer 6-3, 6-4 at the Coupe Rogers in Montreal, Canada on Sunday. Needing only 69 minutes to claim his fifth title of 2017, Zverev used his forehand cross-court and fast-paced second serve to keep the 19-time Major winner on his heels. After winning the first set in comfortable fashion, Zverev broke serve for 4-3 in the second set and never looked back. Winning the event in Washington, D.C. last week, Zverev has now won 10 straight matches on hard-courts this Summer. The young German also owns two Masters 1000 titles this year, taking home the Roma Masters in May.

Federer, who looked somewhat injured throughout the second set, struggled on his serve and return for much of the match.

Federer and Zverev are next slated to see action at the Western & Southern Open next week in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Rogers Cup—Toronto, Canada

No. 5 seed Elina Svitolina continued her stellar 2017 by defeating No. 6 seed Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-0 to win the Rogers Cup in Toronto, Canada on Sunday. Using her strong footwork and off-the-rise ground-strokes to great effect, Svitolina broke serve three times in the first set after losing her own serve two times but cruised in set two with little adversity.

Winning five titles this year, Svitolina also improved her head-to-head with Wozniacki to 3-0.

Wozniacki, who was attempting to win her first title of the season, fell to 0-6 in championship matches this year.
