WIMBLEDON RETURNS TO TENNIS CHANNEL JULY 3

Network to Provide Afternoon, Evening Coverage Throughout 14-Day Grass-Court Major

LOS ANGELES, June 27, 2023 – Tennis Channel’s two-week coverage of Wimbledon, the sport’s oldest major tournament, will begin Monday, July 3, at 5 p.m. ET. In its 15th year at the world’s most prestigious grass-court competition, the network will again present afternoon and evening editions of match segments, exclusive interviews, analysis, news and features. First played in 1877, Wimbledon remains one of the most timeless, honored traditions in sports.

With close to 190 hours planned for the tournament, Tennis Channel will air two original segments dedicated to the event most afternoons and evenings. The four-hour programs run at 5 p.m. ET and 9 p.m. ET during most of the first week, followed by encore presentations throughout the evening. A complete schedule can be found at: www.tennischannel.com/schedule. Coverage of the ladies’ singles championship will take place Saturday, July 15, at 6 p.m. ET, followed by the gentlemen’s singles final the following day at the same time.

Tennis Channel has been covering Wimbledon since 2008.

No one has won more Wimbledon singles titles than Tennis Channel-analyst Martina Navratilova (@Martina), who took home the crown nine times. The Hall of Famer also won seven doubles and four mixed doubles at the event. She will be joined on the network’s Wimbledon team this year by fellow Hall of Famers Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76) and Jim Courier, who also excelled at Wimbledon. Davenport won the singles and doubles championships in 1999 and was a finalist at both events in other years. Courier reached the Wimbledon singles final in 1993.

Analyst Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone) was a Wimbledon singles quarterfinalist in 1984 and a doubles semifinalist in 1986. He is also known for coaching Pete Sampras and Roger Federer following his playing career, men with legendary achievement at the tournament.

Announcers Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) and Brett Haber (@BrettHaber) are back on Tennis Channel’s Wimbledon team this year, as is reporter Jon Wertheim (@jon_wertheim). The author, Sports Illustrated editor and CBS’ 60 Minutes correspondent will create special reports and provide commentary from London. Weissman will host Tennis Channel’s Wimbledon tournament desk this year, joined by Navratilova, Annacone and Wertheim.

Tennis fans can follow everything taking place at Wimbledon this year on Tennis.com and the channel’s app. Its free Match Predictor Game and “Racquet Bracket” are back with the chance for viewers to win prizes during the tournament. Tennis Channel’s recently launched www.tennisshop.com, powered by Tennis-Point, will offer the same gear and equipment used by the best tennis players in the world in London this year.
