Spanish men’s professional tennis player Rafael Nadal has won an incredible 92 ATP singles titles throughout his glittering career, which is surely coming to an end over the next few years. The question being asked here is, can Nadal ever win another ATP final?

Who is Rafael Nadal?

Rafael Nadal Parera (more commonly known as Rafael Nadal) is a men’s professional tennis player and one of the most successful players in the history of the sport. The 26-year-old was born in Manacor, Mallorca, Spain, in June 1986. The left-handed player turned pro in 2001, and throughout his career, he has earned a mouth-watering US$131,700,371 in prize money, which is second only to Novak Djokovic, who has pocketed a whopping $159,951,008.

Nadal’s most successful year was in 2019 when he earned a cool $16,349,586. He has won more than 90 major ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) tournaments around the world, and he is still competing at the highest level today. Many people think that he will soon retire and don’t believe that he can win another ATP tournament, but others think that he still has one or two more ATP tournament victories left in him yet.

Bet on tennis at William Hill Canada today, and you can find a variety of tennis markets for Rafael Nadal with extremely competitive odds. You can sign up to this fully licensed sports wagering site for free, and you can place wagers from your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer, provided it has a stable Wi-Fi/internet connection.

What major tournaments has Nadal won?

Nadal has been most successful on clay courts, having won 63 ATP singles titles on this surface, plus he has also won a total of 36 masters titles. Let’s take a look at his five most recent big wins.

  • 2022 French Open winner. He beat Casper Ruud in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-0
  • 2022 Australian Open winner. He beat Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5
  • 2020 French Open winner. He beat Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, 7-5
  • 2019 US Open winner. He beat Daniil Medvedev 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4
  • 2019 French Open. He beat Dominic Thiem 6-3, 5-7, 6-1, 6-1

Other notable wins

He also beat Dominic Thiem in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 in the 2018 French Open, Kevin Anderson in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 in the 2017 US Open, and Stan Wawrinka in straight sets 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 in the 2017 French Open.

Can Nadal win another ATP final?

Some people believe he is in the best shape of his life, but the best way to gauge just how likely it is that Nadal will win another ATP final would be to look to the major sports wagering sites to find out what kind of odds they are offering for Nadal to win an upcoming ATP tournament outright. For example, at the time of writing, at most sites, you will see that he is NOT the current odds-on favourite to win the November 17th ATP French Open final.

For example, the odds-on favourite to win the match is Casper Ruud. He is currently priced at -200 in American/moneyline odds, which equates to 1/2 in UK fractional odds, and 1.50 in European decimal odds. In comparison, Nadal is currently priced at +160 (which is 8/5 or 2.60) to win the match. There are multiple wagering markets available for this event, and you can generally wager from as little as C$0.10 or C$0.20 per wager (depending on the website). He may not win this final, but there’s a good chance he can still win more upcoming ATP finals. Only time will tell.

Final word when placing real money wagers

When gambling with real money, always remember to walk away from your losses. Chasing your losses could end up in you losing even more money. Set deposit limits, where possible, to help you stay in control of your spending, and never gamble out of necessity. Understanding the odds can help you place more strategic wagers that are more likely to return a profit, and always remember to try and gamble responsibly.
