Fields Led by World No. 1s and Reigning Champions Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek;
U.S. Leads All Nations with 25 Players Earning Direct Entry
PURCHASE, N.Y., July 19, 2023 — The USTA today released the men’s and women’s singles entry lists for the 2023 US Open.

World No. 1s Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek, the men’s and women’s singles defending champions, lead their respective fields, and the United States leads all nations with 25 players (14 women and 11 men) earning direct entry.
The American women are led by No. 4 Jessica Pegula and No. 7 Coco Gauff, with three more Americans among the first four alternates, while the American men in the field include Top-10 players Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe.
Americans using special or protected rankings to gain direct entry include Jennifer Brady(No. 14) and Reilly Opelka (No. 33).
Both the men’s and women’s entries were based on the July 17 rankings. The women’s cutoff was No. 100, while the men’s cutoff was No. 96.
The 2023 US Open main draw runs Monday, August 28, to Sunday, September 10, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. Fan Week, which features the Qualifying Tournament, begins on Tuesday, August 22.
