Network’s 17th Year at First Major to Feature Daily Show, Encore Replays from Melbourne

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9, 2024 – Tennis Channel’s 17th year of Australian Open coverage will begin Saturday, Jan. 13, with nightly show Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open at 5 p.m. ET. The news, analysis, highlight and interview program will air each afternoon at that time for two weeks during one of the sport’s four most prestigious competitions and first major of the year, from January 13-27. The network will surround the evening show with daily encore replays from the first round through the men’s singles final in Melbourne January 14-28 (complete schedule can be found at www.tennischannel.com/schedule). Tennis Channel first covered the Australian Open in 2008.

Hall of Famers Martina Navratilova (@Martina), Jim Courier and Lindsay Davenport (@LDavenport76) are part of the Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open on-air team this year. All found success Down Under during their playing careers. Navratilova took the singles title three times, along with eight doubles championships and another in mixed doubles. Courier won the singles tournament back-to-back in 1992 and 1993, while Davenport won it in 2000 and reached the finals in doubles six times.

Coach and analyst Paul Annacone (@paul_annacone) returns to Tennis Channel’s encore replay studio during the Australian Open in 2024. In 1985 he won the event’s doubles crown. He’ll be joined by longtime network announcer Brett Haber (@BrettHaber), who worked with Annacone at last year’s event and throughout the year.

Author, Sports Illustrated editor/reporter and CBS’ 60 Minutes contributor Jon Wertheim (@jon_wertheim) returns to Tennis Channel Live at the Australian Open this year, and will offer special features and analysis during the tournament. Award-winning host Steve Weissman (@Steve_Weissman) is the show’s conductor, guiding the conversation through tournament storylines and they play out in Melbourne.
