Tabilo Reaches Mallorca Final
Chilean upstart Alejandro Tabilo raced to the finals of the Mallorca Championships on Friday, ousting entertaining Frenchman Gael Monfils 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(3).
Tabilo, who has had a record year on Tour, posted six aces, hit 28 winners and broke serve on two occasions.
The 27-year-old will move up to No. 20 when Monday’s rankings are released.
Born in Toronto, Tabilo will next face either Paul Jubb or Sebastien Ofner in the finals.
Jubb will look to continue his dream week by advancing to the final.
The Brit overcame top seed Ben Shelton in a deciding set tiebreaker on Thursday. He will move up to at least No. 201 when the latest rankings are released on Monday.
Ofner will be looking to reach his first career final as well. The Austrian is currently ranked No. 54 on the computer.

Fernandez Advances to Eastbourne Final
Former US Open finalist Leylah Annie Fernandez reached the finals of the Eastbourne event on Friday, defeating defending champion Madison Keys 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Striking two aces and winning 70 percent of her first serve points, Fernandez broke serve on four occasions.
The Canadian, who owns three career titles to her name, will next face Daria Kasatkina in Saturday’s championship match. Kasatkina defeated French Open finalist Jasmine Paolini 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
Still to come on Friday, top seed Taylor Fritz will look to reach the finals against Aleksandar Vukic.
The American, who will move back to the top spot in the US rankings on Monday, would face Australian Max Purcell in Saturday’s title match. Purcell ended the hopes of local favourite Billy Harris 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
The Rothesay International is the final warm up event before next week’s Wimbledon Championships.
