Tuesday’s action in Paris saw top seed Iga Swiatek continue her reign over women’s tennis. Advancing to the semifinals in easy fashion, the Pole defeated American Jessica Pegula 6-3, 6-2. Swiatek will next face Daria Kasatkina, who dismissed Veronika Kudermetova 6-4, 7-6(5).
On the men’s side, Marin Cilic advanced to the semifinals after he defeated No. 7 seed Andrey Rublev in five sets. Cilic, who is a former US Open winner, will next face Casper Ruud. Ruud dispatched Rune later in four sets during the last match of the day.
Cilic and Ruud will join Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal during Friday’s semifinal. Nadal, who is aiming to win his 14th career title at Roland Garros, ousted top seed Novak Djokovic in four thrilling sets on Tuesday. Zverev upended future great Carlos Alcaraz also in four sets.
Thursday’s action at the French Open will feature the women’s semifinals.
