No. 12 seed Hubert Hurkacz also reached the last 16 by brushing aside David Goffin in three sets, while No. 8 seed Casper Ruud needed five sets to get by Lorezno Sonego, 6-2, 6-7(3), 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Sunday’s men’s action in Paris will feature a star-studded lineup, led by No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic, No. 5 seed Rafael Nadal, inform Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and No. 3 seed Alexander Zverev.
The ladies draw will be highlighted by Leylah Fernandez, Sloane Stephens, Amanda Anisamova and Coco Gauff.
