Sinner Wins Second Career Vienna Title Over Zverev; Fonseca Captures Title in Basel

Erste Bank Open—Vienna, Austria

World No. 2 and four-time Major winner Jannik Sinner captured his second title in Vienna, Austria on Sunday, defeating Alexander Zverev 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

Needing two hours and 29 minutes to prevail, Sinner hit 11 aces and won 82 percent of his first serve points.

Tying his head-to-head at 4-all against Zverev in lifetime meetings, Sinner also collected his 22nd career title.

The Italian will remain at No. 2 in the world and will next see action at the Rolex Paris Masters in France next week.

Zverev will also be in the field in Paris as the No. 3 seed behind top ranked Carlos Alcaraz and Sinner.

Zverev was bidding for his 25th career title. The German won the title earlier this year in Munich, Germany.

Swiss Indoors Basel—Basel, Switzerland

Brazilian phenom Joao Fonseca captured his second ATP Tour title on Sunday in Basel, Switzerland, defeating physical Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokinka 6-3, 6-4.

Fonseca, who improved to 2-0 against Davidovich Fokina in lifetime meetings, capped off a dream week where he defeated defending champion Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard and Denis Shapovalov en-route to the title.

Moving up to No. 28 in the world, Fonseca has set himself up well for a great 2026 season.

Davidovich Fokinka, who still remains in search of his first-carer title, will move up to a new career high of No. 15 in the world on Monday.

The 26-year-old has played in five career finals.
