There are many reasons to love tennis as a sport and the number of iconic tournaments it includes every year is certainly one of the reasons. While the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open naturally take a lot of headlines, keen tennis fans know that there are plenty of other historic competitions to look out for too. The Rolex Paris Masters is a case in point – but who are the favorites to win this in 2022 and what are their current odds?
2022 Rolex Paris Masters: favorites and odds
A great way to get to know more about the upcoming 2022 Paris Rolex Masters and who might win it is by looking at platforms that offer sports betting online. These reliable sports wagering sites not only bring the latest odds so you can see who is tipped to win but also have the best value odds to take if you fancy placing a wager on this event.
But what is the general consensus among bookmakers around who could win, and the odds being given? In truth, it is a little hard to find current odds on this event as it is still a few weeks away. When they are released, though, it is likely that most bookies will have Novak Djokovic as heavy favorite, with Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas close behind.
Novak Djokovic
It is fairly certain that Djokovic will head into 2022’s Paris Masters as firm favorite in many people’s eyes. This could actually be despite him slipping down the rankings somewhat lately and probably not being top seed for this event. When you consider that he won this event in 2021 and has also won it on multiple other occasions, Djokovic looks set to make a real impression.
There is also no doubt he likes playing on the hard court surface at the Accor Arena and this will also make him a real challenger for the title. Although he has had an uncertain 2022 and not been at his best in all events, an Italian Open, Wimbledon and Tel-Aviv Open win show he still has what it takes on the big stage. He does not look quite as invincible as in the past, though, and this could see opponents playing more aggressively against him in Paris.
Daniil Medvedev
As with Djokovic, Medvedev looks pretty certain to play in Paris and also likely to be a favorite in the wagering. A beaten finalist in 2021, he won this event in 2020 and this shows he has what it takes to win the big events. Medvedev also seems to be in decent enough form in 2022 and has enjoyed relative success at events like the Australian Open (finalist), Cincinnati Masters (semifinalist) and the US Open (semifinalist).
In addition to this, he won the Los Cabos Open and looks to have bounced back well from hernia surgery earlier in the year. The only fly in the ointment for Medvedev in 2022 is his lack of titles and the habit he has developed for making it to the latter stages of events without winning them. If he can capture his best form in Paris, he is in with a great chance of rectifying this.
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Top Greek player Tsitsipas is riding high in the ATP rankings currently and is a real threat to opponents in Paris. He is also likely to be someone who many people back to win this event and who the bookies might favor to take home the crown.
One of the main reasons for this is the sheer talent he has and how well his game suits the courts at the Accor Arena. Known for his aggressive, baseline play, Tsitsipas should be able to use this to dominate opponents in matches. The Mallorca Open 2022 win for Tsitsipas plus a Monte Carlo Masters victory and his good general form (such as reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open) also bode well for his chances here.
You do have to wonder, though, how his recent shock early exit in the US Open will affect him moving forward. If this plays on his mind and sends him into a run of poor form, it may not be all plain sailing in Paris.
