Known for having one of the most picturesque settings in tennis, the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters is truly a perfect star to the clay court season.
With Rafael Nadal officially retired from the sport, the Principality will be in search of new King.
Alcaraz and Djokovic Headline Monaco
With world No. 1 Jannik Sinner still serving doping suspension until the Rome Masters in May, four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz and the greatest player of all time Novak Djokovic will lead the 56 player field from April 6 -13, 2025
Alcaraz, who has been struggling as of late with results and his serve, will looking to rebound on his native clay surface. The 21-year-old is also the reigning French Open winner.
Playing in what could be his final year on Tour, two-time former winner Djokovic will also be one to watch in Monaco. Turning 38 in May, Djokovic could very well be playing in Monte Carlo for the final time in his career. The legendary Serb won the title in Monte Carlo in 2013 and 2015.
Other players to watch out for at the Monte Carlo Country Club will include top seed Alexander Zverev, US Open finalist Taylor Fritz, three-time former winner and defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Frenchman Richard Gasquet.
The veteran Frenchman will receive a wildcard into his final visit in Monte Carlo.
The Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, established in 1906, is the first of three ATP Masters 1000 tournaments played on clay each season. Held at the Monte-Carlo Country Club, the event is known for its scenic location and rich history. Rafael Nadal holds the record for the most titles at the tournament, winning 11 times, including eight consecutive victories from 2005 to 2012—an Open Era record.
