Rinderknech Defeats Shapovalov at 2025 BOSS Open
Tuesday’s ATP Tour and WTA Results
Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech scored an upset victory at the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany on Tuesday, defeating No. 5 seed Denis Shapovalov 6-4, 2-6, 6-0.
Needing one hour and 42 minutes to advance, Rinderknech hit nine aces, won 76 percent of his first serve points and broke his Canadian opponent on four occasions.
Recording his fifth victory on the season, Rinderknech will next face Marton Fucsovics for a place in the quarterfinals. Fucsovics dismissed Yannick Hanfmann 7-5, 6-4 earlier in the day.
Other results on Tuesda saw Pierre-Hugues Herbert advance past Damir Dzumhur 6-4 3-0 retire, and Quentin Halys dispatch Lorenzo Sonego 6-7(6), 7-5, 6-4.
Gael Monfils and Fabio Fognini will be in action later today.

Libema Open—Netherlands
On a rain-delayed Tuesday at the Libema Open in the Netherlands, Suzan Lamens scored the lone victory on the women’s and men’s side so far, defeating Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 0-6, 6-3.
Striking four aces during the one hour and 42 minutes contest, Lamens will next face either Anastasia Potapova or Ann Li from the United States.
Former US Open winner Bianca Andresscu will be in action later today against Joanna Garland from Chinese Taipei.
On the men’s side towering American Reilly Opelka, No. 5 seed Hubert Hurkacz and Frenchman Adrian Mannarino will be in action later today.
Top seed Daniil Medvedev will play his first match later this week.

The HSBC Championship—London—Great Britain
The courts at Queen’s Club in London, England saw Heather Watson collect a first-round victory on Tuesday, defeating Yulia Putinteva 6-4, 6-3.
Watson, 33, will next face No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina for a place in the quarterfinals.
The tournaments top seed is Qinwen Zheng from China.
