Reviewing the ASICS Tennis Footwear Line Up for the 2020 US Open

Returning with a fresh-new collection for the 2020 US Open, the tennis team at ASICS is set to debut their latest footwear line-up for the year’s biggest Major. Sponsoring the likes of Novak Djokovic, David Goffin, Borna Coric, Julia Goerges, Jen Brady and Gael Monfils, the ASICS crew will be looking their best on the courts in NYC.

ASICS Court FF 2:

Made in collaboration with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic, the Court FF 2 remains one of thee best tennis shoes on the market. Our pick for top tennis shoe of 2018, the Court FF 2 adds exceptional comfort and stability to its predecessor the Court FF. Available now in both women and men’s sizing, the Court FF 2 is highlighted with a booty-like fit, and provides flexibility and slickness on the edges of the silhouette for those players that like sliding on hard-courts. Weighing in at 14.7 ounces, the Court FF 2 is a tad heavy compared with other speed oriented shoes on the market, but the plush feel and comfort that this shoe  provides is really hard to replicate with any other model in its class.

All in all, the Court FF 2 remains a fantastic choice for your tournament matches, as it will keep your feet comfy and in control.

ASICS Solution Speed FF:

Deemed as a great option for every level of player, the Solution Speed FF is a low-profile offering that is lighter than the Court FF 2. The choice of Australian speed demon Alex de Minaur, the Solution Speed FF comes in a variety of colors for both women and men. The technical aspects of the Flyte Foam cushioning make the Solution Speed FF an extremely breathable and secure offering.

Previously named the Solution Speed 3, the Solution Speed FF comes in with a much softer upper and a modified herringbone sole that will cooperate with any court surface. Weighing in at only 12.3 ounces, this shoe will have the fastest of players feeling extra quick on court.

ASICS Gel-Resolution 8:

Worn by the Touring Pros Jen Brady and Gael Monfils, the Gel-Resolution 8 is another silhouette that is supported by the game’s best. Updated from its predecessor the Gel-Resolution 7, the Gel-Resolution 8 incorporates an all-new mesh covering that will lock in your foot and provide the highest level of support to your lateral stability. Additional updates to this model include a lowered external heel counter to address fit issues some players had with the previous version. Apart from the slight break-in period required, there wasn’t a lot to critique with this model.

The overall enhanced feel has taken the most durable offering for ASICS to the next level. New pivot points have heightened the feel of the outsole and given the Gel-Resolution 8 better grip on a variety of different court surfaces.

Providing a six month warranty, the Gel-Resolution 8 weighs in at 14.7 ounces (the same as the Court FF 2) and is about as perfect of a training shoe that the competitive player will need this season.

You simply can’t go wrong with the Gel-Resolution 8 if you’re in the market for a more flexible, durable tennis shoe. For the most part, durable offerings from any manufacturer tend not to be the most flexible and comfortable. The Gel-Resolution 8 is set to deliver both optimal comfort as well as durability.
