Nike has reopened its archive to bring back the Nike Attack in OG form just in time for summer. The first-time retro from the 1980s pays tribute to the shoe’s disruptive heritage on and off the tennis court. The 1984 model is defined by its role in challenging the on-court look of a tennis shoe. Today, the iconic silhouette has been recreated for those who continue the rebellious spirit of the original.
The 2023 iteration of the Nike Attack is as boldly designed as the OG, pairing smoke gray tones with navy accents and a red Nike Sportswear logo. The Attack’s checkerboard banner, brightly highlighted in black and blue, celebrates the playful spirit of the sneaker and those who choose to rebelliously wear it.
Sparked by high-heat cultural buzz, and Nike family like John McEnroe, Travis Scott and LeBron James wearing the shoe, the Nike Attack OG shows how we continue to expand sport for a new generation, connecting with consumers through their love of sport and sneaker culture. In the ‘80s, the original Nike Attack disrupted the status-quo by rejecting style uniformity in tennis with its bold design and eye-catching blue and red checkered tongue label, and now it is back to empower rebels to assert their rightful place among today’s global subcultures.
The Nike Attack OG will be available at select retailers globally on Friday, June 23 for $120.
